The development of speaking skills is a fundamental goal in foreign
language teaching, yet it presents considerable challenges for both educators and learners.
This study investigates the effectiveness of various classroom strategies and activities
aimed at improving speaking proficiency among language learners. A mixed-methods
approach was adopted, involving classroom observation, surveys, and interviews with
language instructors and learners across secondary and tertiary institutions. Results
indicate that communicative activities, task-based learning, and the integration of
technology significantly enhance learners’ speaking abilities. The study emphasizes the
importance of meaningful interaction, contextual learning, and continuous feedback. The
findings offer valuable insights for educators seeking to optimize speaking skill
development in language classrooms.
