The article analyzes the theoretical foundations of sorting and filtering
in databases and reveals their importance for effective work in information systems. The
study is aimed at studying the logical, mathematical and algorithmic aspects of the
concepts of sorting and filtering on the example of relational databases. The practical
application of SQL operators (WHERE, ORDER BY, AND, OR, NOT), as well as the
impact of indexing, data size and structure on efficiency are analyzed in detail. The results of the study provide practical recommendations for optimizing sorting and filtering
processes, increasing the speed and accuracy of queries, and ensuring efficiency when
working with large amounts of data.
