This study presents a comparative and analytical investigation of the spelling of compound words in the Uzbek language based on Latin and Cyrillic scripts. The research analyzes the theoretical foundations, structure, and spelling principles of compound words. Similarities and differences in the orthography of compound words in both writing systems are identified, and the roles of phonetic and morphological approaches are highlighted. In addition, the study examines the challenges associated with spelling newly emerging compound words in the modern period and proposes possible solutions. The findings of the research are significant for improving the orthographic system of the Uzbek language.
