In this article, the morphological basis of muscle contraction is
discussed from a systematic and scientific approach. The types of muscle tissues, their
morphological and functional differences, especially the sarcomere structure in skeletal
muscles, are analyzed in detail. The molecular mechanisms of calcium ions and ATP
molecules' involvement in muscle contraction are deeply explored. Information about the
relative positioning of sarcomere components, movement mechanisms, and their
physiological significance is provided. Additionally, the consequences of disturbances in these processes for health are also discussed. The article holds theoretical and practical
significance for students, specialists in biology and medicine, as well as researchers.
