THE POSITIONS OF THE NOUN IN THE ACCUSATIVE CASE IN AL-WAFIYA

Abstract

This article analyzes the issue of the noun in the accusative case as presented in Al-Wafiya. The study examines Rukniddin Astirabadi’s views on the use of nouns in the accusative case, the markers of the accusative case, and their grammatical functions. Particular attention is paid to the accusative forms of triptote and diptote nouns, the inflection of Asma’u Sitta, numerals, the categories of definiteness and indefiniteness, and the role of particles resembling verbs in assigning the accusative case. The results of the study demonstrate that the author systematically and clearly explained complex issues of Arabic grammar and described the morphological and syntactic features of the accusative case through illustrative examples. Al-Wafiya serves as an important source in the development of Arabic grammatical studies, reflecting medieval linguistic traditions related to the positions of nouns in the accusative case.
