This article provides a comparative-typological analysis of noun formation systems in the Uzbek and English languages, highlighting their distinctive linguistic features. The study explores the syntactic functions of nouns in sentences and categorizes them according to their morphological structure into simple, derived, and compound nouns. Within the framework of the agglutinative nature of Uzbek and the analytic nature of English, the functional capabilities of noun-forming affixes are comprehensively compared. Furthermore, the article illustrates how simple nouns in one language can correspond to derived or compound structures in another, supported by specific contextual examples.
