Keywords:

This article provides a philosophical analysis of the factors generating social conflicts under conditions of the information society, together with the theoreticalmethodological approaches to their study. It presents M.N. Rutkevich's subject-based typology, the classical social-interaction theories of E. Durkheim, G. Simmel, P. Blau, and M. Mauss, and a SMART analysis of the author's “interests → conflict → development” model. The definitions of information conflict offered by A.Ya. Antsupov and S.B. Davletchina are compared, and seven levels of social conflict in digital society are identified. The findings demonstrate that social conflicts in the information society cannot be analyzed in isolation from questions of regional cooperation and sustainable development.
