This article examines the multimodal expression of politeness in contemporary digital communication from theoretical and pragmatic perspectives. It explores how communicative meaning in digital discourse is constructed not only through verbal means but also through emojis, emoticons, stickers, punctuation, and other visual and graphic resources. The relationship between the concepts of digital discourse, politeness, and multimodality is analysed, with particular attention given to the role of verbal and nonverbal resources in meaning-making. The study also discusses the pragmatic functions of multimodal resources in mitigating speech acts, expressing emotional attitudes, enhancing solidarity, and reducing communicative ambiguity. The findings demonstrate the importance of investigating politeness in digital discourse as a complex communicative phenomenon emerging from the interaction and integration of various semiotic sesources.
