Abstract

This article analyzes the limitations of systemic use of anti-tuberculosis drugs and the advantages of local delivery methods in the treatment of tuberculosis. The deep penetration of tuberculosis mycobacteria into lung tissue and the increase in drug resistance remain a serious problem for global health. The article examines the mechanisms of drug delivery directly to the affected organ through nanoparticles, liposomes, and inhalation therapy. Local delivery methods allow increasing the drug's bioavailability, reducing systemic side effects, and shortening the treatment duration. Research results indicate that new delivery systems have high efficacy in treating multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) forms.
