DISCURSIVE ANALYSIS OF DICTIONARIES BASED ON ASSOCIATIVE EXPERIMENTS (LEARNERʼS EXPLANATORY AND FUNDAMENTAL DICTIONARIES)

This article examines the discursive characteristics of lexical units presented in pedagogical explanatory and fundamental dictionaries based on associative experiments. The study is conducted on the basis of English and Uzbek language materials and identifies discrepancies between dictionary definitions and the associative fields formed in the actual cognitive consciousness of language users. The results of the associative experiments are interpreted through discursive analysis, revealing the cultural, social, and cognitive components of lexical units. The research contributes to the fields of pedagogical lexicography, language teaching methodology, and contrastive linguistics.
