This article provides a comprehensive scientific and legal analysis of the requirements for an employment contract based on the labor legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The employment contract is assessed as the primary legal instrument of labor relations between an employee and an employer, and its legal nature, content, form, mandatory and additional conditions, stages of conclusion, and requirements for the parties are thoroughly examined. The article analyzes the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Labor Code and other normative legal acts, International Labor Organization conventions, judicial practice, and scientific works of leading scholars. Practical problems observed — confusion between labor and civil law contracts, informal employment, discrimination in hiring, and non-compliance with written form requirements — are studied scientifically. A comparative legal analysis with the legislation of Russia, Kazakhstan, Germany, and France is conducted, and specific proposals aimed at improving national legislation are put forward. The article is of significant scientific and practical importance for labor law theory and practice.
