THE SIGNIFICANCE OF UZBEKISTAN’S PROTECTED NATURAL TERRITORIES IN THE PRESERVATION OF REGIANAL BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY

This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the strategic importance and functional role of Protected Natural Areas (PNAs) in Uzbekistan in conserving regional biodiversity. Within the scope of the study, the ecological efficiency of state nature reserves, national parks, and biosphere reserves in preserving the gene pool and ensuring the stability of natural ecosystems is evaluated. Furthermore, the legal mechanisms for maintaining landscape integrity under increasing anthropogenic pressure and the issues of establishing ecological corridors are scientifically substantiated. The analysis results put forward practical recommendations for modernizing the PNA system, specifically focusing on the in-situ conservation of endemic and relict species populations listed in the Red Data Book. This work serves to highlight the fundamental base functions of protected areas in restoring biological balance and achieving sustainable development goals.
