This article examines the concept of the definite integral and its practical importance in calculating surfaces and volumes. The article analyzes algorithms for calculating the surface area of a curved trapezoid, the role of the integral in determining the volume of solids of revolution. Also, the convenience of integral calculation in determining the parameters of complex geometric shapes is shown through examples.
