The article presents a profound theoretical analysis of the visual perception process as a fundamental cognitive function. The psychophysiological properties of the visual analyzer, including the mechanisms of constancy, objectness, and selectivity, are examined in detail. Based on the high bandwidth of the visual channel, the author substantiates the concept of multimedia learning as the most adequate method of knowledge transmission in the digital society. The paper reveals the psychological barriers and advantages of visualizing educational information and provides recommendations for optimizing the structure of multimedia content.
