Abstract

This article discusses the effectiveness of the CLIL method — Content and Language Integrated Learning — in teaching German as a foreign language. CLIL is one of the modern pedagogical approaches based on the integrated teaching of subject content and a foreign language. The article analyzes the theoretical and methodological foundations of this method, its main principles, the 4C model, possibilities of application in German language lessons, and its differences from traditional foreign language teaching methods. In addition, the article reveals the role of CLIL in developing students‟ communicative competence, independent thinking, interdisciplinary knowledge, and intercultural awareness.
